Despite a near-comeback victory against the Calgary Stampeders in the Labour Day Classic, Ed Hervey is none too pleased with his Edmonton Eskimos. Edmontons general manager held court with the media on Tuesday, angrily calling out Simeon Rottier and saying the veteran lineman may have played his last game with the team this season. "Simeon Rottier will not start on Friday," he said flatly. While offence wasnt an issue for the Eskimos down the stretch, Calgarys defence went through Edmontons offensive line for seven sacks on Monday in a 37-34 loss. "Our first priority is to protect our quarterback," Hervey continued. "We will make some changes on our O-line. There comes a point where we have to be honest with our team, players and the fans. Its obvious we need to protect our quarterback better." Hervey was also frustrated with Edmontons offensive play, particularly in short yardage situations and said changes will be made on that front beginning with offensive co-ordinator Doug Sams no longer calling the plays. "I will improve this team," he vowed. "I dont care who I have to go though to do it." With a 1-8 record through the first half of the season, Hervey added that he felt the season wasnt lost and said there will be personnel moves coming. He stopped short, however, on changing up his head coach. "Kavis will coach the rest of the season," said Hervey, adding that he had a candid conversation with Reed following the loss. "Then we will evaluate." Paul Worrilow Jersey . It took five games, but the Celtics finally helped Stevens earn his first NBA victory. "Im going to celebrate for a whole 12 minutes, and then Im going to start watching Orlando and trying to figure them out," the first-year Celtics coach said after Boston beat the Utah Jazz, one of the leagues other winless teams, 97-87 on Wednesday night. http://www.authenticnfllionslockroom.co ... -Jersey/.S. womens soccer team to a 2-0 win over China in Colorado in the afternoon. Michael Roberts Jersey . Yup, he definitely needed this one. Craig homered twice and had three RBIs Wednesday night to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Craig went 4 for 5 and Yadier Molina added three hits for the Cardinals, who salvaged the final game of a three-game set in hopes of staying within shouting distance of front-running Milwaukee in the NL Central. Eric Ebron Jersey .com) - Fair Grounds commences its road to the Kentucky Derby Saturday with the 71st running of the $200,000 Lecomte Stakes. BALTIMORE -- Bud Norris set his sights on the first complete game of his career until a blister on his pitching hand forced him to exit the game. The right-hander, nonetheless, still managed his most dominant performance this season. Norris pitched eight innings of three-hit ball and Adam Jones hit one of the Baltimore Orioles three home runs in a 4-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Monday night. Nick Markakis and Ryan Flaherty also connected for the Orioles. Norris (5-5) struck out six and walked three while matching the longest outing of his career. Coming in, he had given up four or more runs in four of his past five starts. The blister is not expected to affect Norris next outing, but Orioles manager Buck Showalter did not want to take any chances. "Its an awkward spot for me, but Ive got to take care of it the next couple days and I know how to maintain it and so forth," Norris said. So I think it was a precautionary reason. I understand hes the skipper and hes going to make decisions, Im OK with that." Boston has lost six of its past seven games after a season-high seven game winning streak. The Red Sox have been shut out five times this season. Jones had three hits, including his 150th career homer. Markakis extended his hitting streak to 14 games with two hits. "I feel good up there, but the outcome aint going to be there sometimes," Markakis said. "Im seeing the ball well and putting good swings on it. Kind of trying not to change anything. Stick with your same approach, stick with whats working." Boston right-hander Jake Peavy (1-4) allowed four runs and eight hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Peavy has given up three or more runs in seven consecutive starts and hasnt won since April 25 against Toronto. "Take a few pitches back and its a different game," Peavy said. "I dont care about my personal win-loss record. I dont care about any personal numbers at this point. Im pitching to win. I was pitching to win tonight. But we were grinding. Thats a really good lineup." After allowing a leadoff single to Brock Holt in the first, Norris retired 13 consecutive batters. Daniel Nava managed Bostons second hit with a two-out double in the fifth. "Ass well as Norris was pitching, he stayed out of the middle of the plate and had very good stuff, one run was going to be the difference the way this one turned out," Boston manager John Farrell said.dddddddddddd "We couldnt put too much together in any one inning." Jones gave the Orioles a lead in the first with his 10th homer. "Im trying to use the whole field," Jones said. "Im trying to not limit myself to just pulling the ball. Thats how I get in trouble. Just trying to use the whole field. If its in, try to pull it. If its away, try to stay on it. Not rocket science, but some sort of science." Baltimore then increased the lead to 3-0 that same inning when Markakis hit a two-run shot off Peavy onto the flag court. Flahertys solo shot in the seventh provided further cushion. Tommy Hunter, who came off the disabled list Sunday, threw a scoreless ninth. The Orioles improved to 24-9 when scoring four or more runs. Orioles starters have often failed to get deep into games this season. Both Chris Tillman and Ubaldo Jimenez failed to get through the third inning over the past four days. Showalter said arms were available in the bullpen, he lauded Norris for going deep into the game. "Bud was really good," Showalter said. "Id have probably given him a chance to finish that game." NOTES: Showalter said he expects to hear by Tuesday if Manny Machado will be suspended for throwing his bat Sunday against Oakland, igniting a benches-clearing confrontation. Machado apologized for the incident on the team-owned television network. ... Baltimore recalled RHP Josh Stinson from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned RHP Brad Brach to the minor league club.
