Post Unclaimed money
I've just tried to refund someone £2.86 for overpaid postage. I took the email address from my paypal email that i got when they paid for the item. the address was also the same one the transaction on paypal but yet when i sent the money its showing up as unclaimed in my account.

This has happened before but i was able to cancel the payment and resend it to the correct address, however it isnt giving me that option this time. I've told the buyer and asked for the correct paypal address but if i resend it again it means i'd of paid twice. I know £2.86 isnt much, but when you're skint like me it is alot, and i cant afford to be wasting money.

Anyone know what i should do? I hope this makes sense, i really cant be bothered to type things  as i've got so much to do, but i just want this sorted.

Thanks

some people have there paypal set up this way so that they have to except the payment.
i also belive that if they only have a Personal Account on paypal they have to except payment or a refund in your case, its only a matter of logging into the paypal account and click accept

LAURA !!!!!!

dont send it as a payment..

send a refund from the original transaction page..

go into paypal,

find there payment to you,.

and at the very bottom is a link to refund,

hit it.

on the next page, change the amount to be refunded,

and bobs your uncle.

only ever do it this way for three reasons,

should there be a charge back, they dont get the full amount back, just what the diffrence is,

also if they have a business account they would pay charges on the money sent, as a refund they dont

also and this is for you..

you have payed charged to recive the money (i think) sending a refund rather than a payment will take a portion of the charges to give them back, so on £3.00 you will lose about £2.95 from paypal balance, and 5p of the fees will be refunded, saving you 5p (estimates)

not much, but it all helps.

i'll remember that for next time, thanks

The guy emailed me, said his paypal account isnt set up for recieving payments as he only uses the account for selling :? anyway thats why he refused it. The money was coming direct from my account so i dunno what'll happen now, its showing as on temporary hold atm, and i think it'll appear in my paypal account once the funds have left my account. It better like :.:

Things are sorted with the guy like, i'm just sending him an extra bottle of fragrance oil to make the costs up. Normally if someone pays too much postage i just give them the cash back in with there order, but i think i'll do the refund thing mark mentioned from now on.

Thanks
