The Flying Saucer Wheel is a unique design that enables a much more natural running position for your pet chinchilla. It does not have to arch it's back as it would in a regular exercise wheel, and there is plenty of room for a bushy tail to bob around, with a flat running surface to ensure no paws or legs get caught in spokes.

Regular exercise for your chinchilla is vital to ensure a healthy and happy pet - the Flying Saucer wheel is easy to attach to the inside of the cage with 3 U-clamps and 6 small nuts.

These Genuine Flying Saucer wheels are very rare to find anywhere, let alone on eBay - and they should not be mistaken for the much cheaper plastic versions. The genuine wheel is all metal construction so no bits to nibbble, and run on sealed bearings for a smooth ride and a long life. They are easy to clean with a damp cloth, and hygienic with minimal edges or mouldings. The edges are rolled so there are no sharp ridges that could injure your pet.

Both our Chinchillas use their own wheel regularly, and with careful co-ordination both can run on it at the same time! Briefly - their co-ordination is not that careful...

The wheel is 13.5 inches /34cm across, which gives a huge running diameter of  42.5" or 106cm!

The wheel will fit through any cage door around 10" by 10", and comfortably support up to 1.25kg - for the chunkiest of chinchillas!

The Wheel shown in the video does not have the extra dustcap fitted over the central spindle - the wheel you are bidding on does have the cover to prevent dust entering the bearings, and giving a safer running area for your chinchilla.

Many chinchillas will take to it quite readily, but to encourage your chinchilla to get on to it, leave a handful of dusting sand in it - once the chinchilla gets used to the movement, it will be no time before they are running purposefully on it.

Make sure that the wheel is fitted close to the bottom of the cage to reduce the chance of any high speed falls. Also remove the wheel if any new born kits are in the cage - they risk being launched at high speed across the cage if an adult is already running on it.
